Fjord & Flørli – Discover the Lysefjord & experience the famous Flørli Stairs

The experience begins with our two-hour fjord safari through the Lysefjord. We’ll visit some of the most famous highlights, including Fantahålå, Preikestolen, and the impressive Hengjanefossen—with plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and learn more about the fjord and life in the region.

A fjord with calm waters and mountains reflected on the surface, several buildings along the shore, wooded slopes, a peaceful landscape, a boat floating in the distance, sunlight flooding the scene.

From there, the journey continues by boat to Flørli, a small, car-free village that can only be reached on foot or by water. This historic village is best known for its 4,444 wooden steps, which wind steeply up the mountain alongside the old water pipes.

A large metal pipeline runs along a rocky slope in the middle of a mountainous landscape with a river, surrounded by forests and hills at sunset or sunrise.

Here you'll have time to climb the legendary Flørli Stairs on your own. You should plan on spending about 3–4 hours on the entire route. Along the way, you'll be rewarded with impressive views of the fjord and the surrounding mountain landscape.

Alternatively, there is an easier route with about 700 steps, for which you should allow about an hour. This route also offers beautiful views and is particularly well-suited for families with children.

People are sitting on a wooden track that runs through a forest, with a large pipe on the left. All you can see are their colorful hiking boots.

After your tour, we'll be waiting for you back down in Flørli. Depending on availability, we'll have club sandwiches and delicious pastries from our favorite bakery or freshly prepared dishes from the cozy Flørli Café.

We recommend visiting Fjord & Flørli from April through October, when conditions are suitable for hiking.
