1) The adventure begins

In January 2024, Jim asked me for the first time if I would be interested in doing boat trips for him from time to time. He had heard that I had a recreational boating license and that I speak German, English and Norwegian. Actually perfect for guided boat tours with tourists. But I declined with thanks, as the whole thing sounded a bit dubious to me.

In April I was asked a second time, this time I realized after a few minutes that the whole thing could be very exciting after all. Without further ado, Jim took me on a trip to the Lysefjord. This is where our journey together begins.

After the first few weeks of deliberations, we agreed to start a new company together --> Ryfylke Adventures.

Now it was about the direction of our company. Where are we, where do we want to go, how do we get there? Jim brought 2 boats to the company that he had purchased for Ryfylke Relax. No further licenses are required to transport guests with these boats (due to the relatively small engines with 40 HP). So we had the opportunity to start directly with guided boat tours.

To this day, Jim continues to surprise me with new ideas (he's the visionary, I'm more cautious). He showed me his dream boat right at the beginning. For both of us it was actually unattainable, because on the one hand it was outside our budget and on the other hand there are completely different regulations for such a boat. To be allowed to transport guests on this boat, you need a few licenses that we didn't even have at the time. But you can dream, yes you can dream...

Then Jim comes up with the crazy idea of simply asking if we can test drive the boat. Kjetil(Strand Båtsenter), we still don't understand what you were thinking. Not only were we allowed to test drive the boat, you also made it possible for us to realize our dream. We have a lot to thank you for!

From here, our journey together becomes much more. This is where our adventure together really begins!
